Set quality (480p/720p), length (6s/10s), aspect ratio and reference images individually for each shot in your batch.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Grok Imagine Automation extension free?
Yes, the automation is completely free. Build a storyboard, queue text-to-video, image-to-video and text-to-image shots, run the whole sequence on grok.com and auto-download every result, at no cost. The only optional paid part is the AI script-to-scenes splitter: you get 3 free runs and then one free run every day, and Pro lifts that limit ($1.99/week, $4.99/month, $34.99/year). You only need your own Grok account to generate.
What is free and what is Pro?
Free forever: the storyboard builder, batch generation, scene chaining, per-shot settings (480p/720p, 6s/10s, aspect ratio, reference images) and automatic downloading. The AI script-to-scenes splitter, which turns a pasted story into ready-to-run shot prompts, gives you 3 free runs and then one free run per day; Pro removes that daily limit ($1.99/week, $4.99/month, $34.99/year). No account or sign-up is needed either way.
The extension isn't doing anything on grok.com. How do I activate it?
Open the Grok Imagine page (grok.com/imagine) and make sure you are signed in to your Grok account, then refresh the tab and open the side panel. The controls only work on the Imagine pages, not on other Grok or X pages.
It doesn't detect the Generate button (or other buttons). What's wrong?
This almost always means grok.com changed its interface. The extension reads the live page to find buttons, so a redesign can temporarily break detection. Refresh first; if it persists, update to the latest version. Selector fixes ship whenever Grok changes its UI.
A generation seems stuck or stopped responding. How do I recover?
Grok may be busy or a request may have failed silently. The extension retries automatically based on your Max Retries setting. If it is still stuck, use the manual recovery control to resume the queue without restarting the whole batch.
Why did my batch stop partway through?
The usual causes are hitting Grok’s per-account generation limits, your login session expiring, or grok.com returning errors under load. Sign back in if needed, increase the delay between shots, and re-run the remaining items.
Do I need a Grok (xAI) account to use it?
Yes, a Grok account. The extension itself is free, but it only drives Grok’s own web interface and doesn’t bypass anything, so you must be logged in to grok.com. Generation uses whatever quota your own xAI account tier provides.
I keep getting rate limited. How do I avoid it?
Rate limits come from xAI, not the extension. Increase the delay between submissions and run fewer shots back-to-back. Spacing requests out reduces throttling, but it cannot raise your account’s actual quota.
Generated files aren’t downloading automatically. How do I fix it?
Turn OFF “Ask where to save each file before downloading” in Chrome’s download settings. With that prompt enabled, Chrome blocks automated saves and the batch stalls waiting for you to confirm each file.
It worked yesterday but broke today, did I do something wrong?
Probably not. Grok frequently ships interface changes that can break automation overnight. Refresh the page, confirm you’re still logged in, and update the extension (chrome://extensions → Update). A fixed version usually follows shortly after a Grok UI change.
Is my data private?
Your prompts, reference images, and the videos Grok generates stay between your browser and grok.com, never sent to us. The only things sent to our servers are: the script text you choose to submit for AI scene-splitting, an anonymous install ID for usage checks, and anonymous error codes (no prompts, images, or URLs) so we can detect when grok.com changes break the tool.
