Why a collage that runs in the browser
Most collage sites upload your pictures to make the grid, which means a folder of your photos sits on someone else’s server for as long as they keep it. There is no technical need for that: a browser can decode a photo, draw it into a canvas and hand you the file back. This tool does exactly that, so the pictures stay on your device and the work happens at the speed of your own machine rather than a queue.
What the layouts do with your framing
Every layout for a given number of photos keeps the framing you have already done. If you pinched a picture to centre a face, flicking through the four-photo arrangements will not undo it — the photos and their framing move with you. Going to a layout with fewer cells keeps the first few; going to a bigger one leaves the extra cells empty for you to fill.
Borders, gaps and the background
The gap slider sets the space between the photos and the border around the outside to the same width, which is what most people mean by “border”. The corner slider rounds each photo against the background behind it, so a gradient shows through the gaps and around the edge. At a gap of zero the photos touch and the rounding lets little diamonds of background through where four corners meet — which is a look in its own right.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The collage is built inside your browser tab: the pictures are decoded, laid out and exported on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so nothing can be stored or seen by anyone else.
Is there a watermark?
No. Nothing is drawn on your picture: no watermark, no logo, no corner mark. The file carries a small text note in its metadata saying it was made here, which any photo app can strip.
How many photos can I use?
Between two and nine. Each count has several layouts, and four photos — the most common collage — has the widest choice.
What size does it export?
2048 px on the long side by default, or 4096 px if you choose it. 2048 is the default because every device that can open the tool can also export at that size; 4096 needs more memory and some phones will refuse it.
Can I use it on a phone?
Yes, and it was designed for one. The tabs sit along the bottom within thumb reach, and a long press picks a photo up so you can swap it with another.
Do I need an account?
No. The collage maker works signed out. An account is only needed if you want to send the finished collage into the PandaVid editor, because the editor stores your media.
Can I put videos in a collage?
Not yet — this tool is for photos. A video collage is a different job with different limits on a phone, so it is being built separately rather than bolted on.
